Strategic Philanthropy
I serve as a fractional development director and philanthropy consultant, partnering with nonprofits and funders to build aligned, impactful, sustainable fundraising infrastructure.
My Approach
Engaging across the funding ecosystem, I help nonprofits and funders align their values, strategy, and relationships to unlock resources and advance meaningful impact. I work in deep partnership with my clients, providing bespoke services tailored to each client’s vision and needs.
For Nonprofits
I serve as a fractional development director, supporting organizations that need senior leadership but not a full-time hire.
Working as an embedded member of your team, I lead fundraising strategy while actively supporting execution—determining priorities, managing key relationships, and building the systems and infrastructure critical to a sustainable fundraising program.
This often includes:
Fundraising strategy
Major gifts development
Multi-year planning
Board and leadership engagement
Development systems and infrastructure
For Funders
I advise foundations and family philanthropies on grantmaking strategy, helping translate vision and values into clear priorities and meaningful impact.
I work with funders to move beyond transactional giving, supporting deeper engagement in the fields they fund through approaches that are rigorous, partnership-driven, and grounded in trust.
This often includes:
Strategy and priority setting
Grantmaking process design and development
Opportunity sourcing, assessment, and due diligence
Trust-based approaches to learning and evaluation
Ecosystem and field engagement
What It’s Like to Work Together
We brought Annie on to provide strategic advisory and support at the time of a founder and CEO transition. As a 20+ year old organization, our fundraising strategies have changed and evolved over time. Rather than reinventing the wheel, Annie met us where we were and recommended strategies tailored to a mature organization in a transition moment and helped us develop the clarity of vision on where we want our fundraising capacity to grow in the next few years. I cannot say enough positive things: she is proactive, empathetic, and extremely skilled in her advisory.
Monica Schroeder, VP of Global Engagement, Build Change
I've had the pleasure of working with Annie on and off for the past seven years, and she always brings a combination of strategic thinking, genuine relationship-building, and a strong sense of purpose. She combines these skills and values with extreme efficiency, and I am always amazed by how much she gets done. Annie is an invaluable asset to the nonprofit sector, and anyone who gets to work with her is lucky to have her on their team.

I have never met anyone like Annie Lascoe Palmer. After working together with her at 3 different organizations—ranging from clean, running water projects on the Navajo Nation; to global conservation work; to Indigenous arts, culture, and community building in LA—I can say that I have never seen a more dedicated and fierce fundraiser and, equally importantly, a deeply committed ally. Annie is not only committed to gathering support for any project she touches, but approaches it from a place of learning, listening, and trust building. Annie is the best of the best, hands down.
